Excitement buzzes through Fairview as the Critter Club announces its Fall 2024 lineup of animal education events for children, slated to take place every Saturday from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, starting September 14 through October 19. These enriching sessions are set to unfold in the scenic surroundings of The Park at 239 Town Place, located within the bustling Fairview Town Center. This series promises to be a thrilling educational adventure, offering local families the unique opportunity to meet a fascinating collection of animals, from the mischievous Spider Monkey to the exotic Ruffed Lemur.
Event Highlights
Each event is carefully designed to captivate the minds of young attendees, ages 3-10, though children of all ages are warmly welcomed with the understanding that the littlest ones may require some parental assistance. Alongside the awe-inspiring animal encounters, children can indulge in face painting, dive into activity sheets, and even win prizes. Notably, to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, the Critter Club has organized a ticket rotation system for activities and urges attendees to arrive on time to fully embrace the program. Participants are encouraged to come prepared with lawn chairs or blankets for comfortable seating, albeit tents and shade structures are to be left at home to maintain an open and inviting space for all.
Highlighting the events are the scheduled animal stars, including the intriguing Asian Leopard Cat and the adorable Fennec Fox, among others. Each Saturday introduces a new animal, allowing children to discover diverse species and learn about their habits, habitats, and how to protect them. To complement the learning experience, the fair will provide interactive activities aligned with the day’s animal theme, creating a memorable hands-on learning environment that’s both fun and informative.
However, it’s important for attendees to note a few key considerations to help ensure these events are enjoyable and respectful to both the animal guests and fellow participants. The Critter Club kindly requests the avoidance of bringing food or drinks with strong odors, as these can distract the animals. Moreover, following FTC staff instructions and staying with your group will help keep the day’s activities running smoothly and on schedule. For everyone’s safety and to preserve the focused atmosphere of the event, toys that can be thrown are not permitted in the parking area during presentations. Though the animal lineup is planned with excitement, it is subject to change, reminding us of the unpredictable nature of working with live animals.
